God did not use an evolutionary process to create Adam, since Adam was a human before he was alive, instead of Adam being alive (as an animal) before he was a human: the text reads “the man became a living creature” (Gen. 2:7) not “the living creature [i.e., an animal] became a man.” And neither was Eve created from an evolutionary process, but from Adam’s rib (Gen. 2:22).
A Quick Refutation of Old Earth Creationism
God created the earth, and He did so in six literal days. That the days are literal is proven in the justification for Sabbath-keeping in Exodus 20:8-11, where man is told to imitate God’s creation/rest pattern by working for six literal days and resting one literal day:
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” (Exodus 20:8-11)
